McAfee & Taft attorneys and staff‘Light The Night’
Joining more than a million people across the U.S. and Canada, McAfee & Taft attorneys and staff took part in Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk on November 1st in the Oklahoma City Boathouse District and November 8th in Tulsa’s River West Festival Park. McAfee & Taft was proud to sponsor both events.
Family, friends and co-workers gather together to celebrate, honor or remember those touched by cancer. The event raises funds in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. Its mission is to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma; ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients; and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
The organization is the largest funder of cutting-edge research to advance cures, investing more than $1.2 billion in research. It also helps patients navigate their cancer treatment and ensures they have access to quality, affordable and coordinated care.
According to the Oklahoma Chapter of LLS, nearly $500,000 was raised between the two events this year.
In the firm’s video about this year’s event, McAfee & Taft shareholder and employee benefits attorney Bill Freudenrich discusses what makes the event so special, how the firm has supported the event, and why this event has a special significance for him and his family.
