McAfee & Taft again named to ‘Go-To Law Firms’
McAfee & Taft, the state’s largest law firm, has once again been recognized as one of the “Go-To Law Firms of the Top 500 Companies,” according to American Lawyer Media (ALM). Only 322 law firms in the country were selected. This is the seventh consecutive year that McAfee & Taft has been recognized in the annual list.
In its annual survey of the general counsel at each of the 500 largest companies in the United States, ALM asked the nation’s top companies who they turn to first to handle their most significant legal matters in the areas of corporate transactions, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, and European Union matters. Their responses form the basis for ALM’s definitive list of “Go-To Law Firms of the World’s Leading Companies,” published in the 11th annual edition of In-House Law Departments of the Top 500 Companies, distributed to more than 20,000 senior in-house counsel, including the FORTUNE 1,000 general counsel and subscribers of Corporate Counsel magazine.
This year, 16 Fortune 500 companies singled out McAfee & Taft as a “go-to” firm for legal work, including General Motors (#7), Ford Motor Company (#10), State Farm Insurance Cos. (#44), Pfizer (#48), Best Buy (#61), Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (#156), Paccar (#168), Chesapeake Energy (#223), Hertz Global Holdings (#293), DTE Energy (#299), DaVita HealthCare Partners (#311), Republic Services (#323), Quest Diagnostics (#341), Boston Scientific (#357), Health Management Associates (#376) and Mattel (#395). Torts litigation, labor and employment law, contracts litigation, intellectual property litigation, labor litigation, and securities law were the areas most highlighted by general counsel about McAfee & Taft.
