McAfee & Taft elects eight new shareholders for 2023
The shareholders of McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, have elected attorneys Kaitlyn Schrick Chaney, Katie Gant Crane, Alex Duncan, William J. Holland, Christian S. Huckaby, Dru A. Prosser, Jeffrey L. Vogt, and Chase C. Webb as fellow shareholders, effective January 1, 2023. The announcement was made by managing director Michael Lauderdale.
Kaitlyn Schrick Chaney is a transactional attorney who advises corporate and financial institution clients in a wide range of transactional matters, with a particular emphasis on finance transactions and regulatory compliance. A portion of her practice is devoted to counseling businesses and assisting them with day-to-day general corporate governance and transactional matters, representing both public and privately owned companies across industries in a broad range of corporate and business matter. Chaney’s achievements have earned her inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch and Oklahoma Super Lawyers’ list of “Oklahoma Rising stars. She is a 2015 honors graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
Katie Gant Crane is a trial lawyer whose commercial litigation practices encompasses complex business disputes, class actions, securities litigations, internal and government investigations, and white-collar criminal defense. Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, she practiced in the New York offices of Levine Lee LLP and Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP, and clerked for the Honorable Vincent L. Briccetti of the U.S. Court for the Southern District of New York. Crane earned her law degree from Fordham University in 2013.
Alex Duncan is a trial lawyer whose practice focuses on civil litigation, including complex commercial litigation. Before joining McAfee & Taft, he worked as an associate in the White Collar and Government Investigations Practice Group of King & Spalding LLP in Washington D.C. Duncan’s achievements have earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch and Oklahoma Super Lawyers’ list of “Oklahoma Rising Stars”. He graduated with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2015.
William J. Holland’s practice is primarily focused on the resolution of complex business disputes, , including the defense of manufacturers of leading consumer and commercial products in high-stakes product liability lawsuits as well as the defense of insurance companies in bad faith actions. A portion of his practice is devoted to assisting public and private companies, with a particular emphasis on those in the financial services sector. Holland earned his Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and his achievements have earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch, as well as Oklahoma Super Lawyers’ list of “Oklahoma Rising Stars”. Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, Holland served at a publicly traded Texas-based financial services company. He is a 2013 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
Christian S. Huckaby is a trial lawyer with a proven and successful track record of trying both non-jury and jury trials in state and federal courts in Oklahoma and beyond. Since 1995, he has developed extensive experience and successfully represented energy companies, manufacturers, transportation companies, and insurance carriers in a wide variety of disputes. In 2003, he represented a defendant in Christian v. Gray, 2003 OK 10, 65 P.3d 561, the landmark case in which the Oklahoma Supreme Court adopted the Daubert standard for expert witnesses. Huckaby’s achievements have earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Oklahoma Super Lawyers, as well as an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Oklahoma college of Law.

Chase C. Webb is a registered patent attorney whose practice is focused on intellectual property counseling and transactional matters involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, licensing agreements, and trade secrets. His enforcement practice includes handling online and social media disputes, litigation, and assisting clients in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to joining the firm, he was a registered patent agent with the USPTO. Webb’s achievements have earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch and Oklahoma’s Super Lawyers’ list of “Oklahoma Rising Stars.” He earned his Juris Doctor from Creighton University in 2015.
