McAfee & Taft elects three new shareholders
The shareholders of McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, have elected employee benefits attorney Brandon P. Long and trial lawyers Andrew L. Richardson and Harold C. Zuckerman as fellow shareholders, effective January 1, 2013. The announcement was made by managing director Richard D. Nix.
Brandon Long is an ERISA attorney whose specialized practice is concentrated on qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and executive compensation. His diverse clients include Fortune 500 companies, publicly traded and closely held businesses, middle-market companies, healthcare providers, cities, universities and Indian tribes. Since the passage of the Affordable Care Act, he has also counseled numerous companies of all sizes on the interpretation and implementation of key deadlines and measures of the new health care reform law and has assisted clients in analyzing and implementing cost-containment strategies.
Active in the community, Long serves as general counsel to the Oklahoma County Bar Association, on the board of trustees for the Oklahoma Bar Foundation, and on the boards of directors for The Education & Employment Ministry (TEEM) and the Royals Excellence in Education Foundation. He has also served as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters since 1994 and is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma City – LOYAL Class V.
Long is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, District of Columbia Bar, Oklahoma County Bar Association, and SouthWest Benefits Association.
Andrew Richardson is a trial lawyer whose practice is primarily focused on representing manufacturers and distributors in products liability litigation and other complex business disputes. He has particularly extensive experience defending some of the nation’s largest automakers in high-stakes lawsuits in state and federal courts throughout the Midwest and Southwest.
Richardson is a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy and Leadership Tulsa Class 39 and is a member of the Defense Research Institute as well as the Tulsa County, Oklahoma and American bar associations. His achievements in litigation have earned him inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers.
Harold Zuckerman‘s trial practice is focused on business litigation with an emphasis on defending major automakers, pharmaceutical companies and other manufacturers against product liability claims. He has represented companies and individuals in numerous cases involving wrongful death as well as serious catastrophic injuries, defended numerous national insurance companies in cases involving allegations of bad faith, and represented clients in cases involving wrongful termination in numerous jury trials in state and federal courts across the nation.
Zuckerman is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, American Bar Association and Defense Research Institute. His achievements as a trial lawyer have earned him inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers.
