McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, has promoted Debby Jones, Amy Poyner, and Ginger Schones to the newly created position of paralegal manager in the firm’s Oklahoma City office. In these roles, they will retain their duties as working paralegals while also managing their respective teams to ensure optimal performance and attorney support, as well as high-quality client service. Their primary responsibilities include overseeing legal support assignments and balancing workloads, collaborating in the development of improved processes and procedures, and training and developing the firm’s significant depth of paralegal talent. The announcement was made by Chief Human Resources Officer Josh Boren.

Debby Jones joined McAfee & Taft as a paralegal in its Aviation Group in 2007 and currently oversees a team of 17 professionals who provide comprehensive paralegal support to the firm’s worldwide aircraft financing, title and registration practice.

Amy Poyner began her legal career in 2003 and currently serves as a paralegal with the firm’s Business Transactions and Real Estate groups. In her new role, she directs and supports paralegals serving the firm’s business and corporate, real estate, tax, employee benefits, healthcare, and intellectual property lawyers.

Ginger Schones has worked in the legal industry for more than 35 years and has served as paralegal to McAfee & Taft trial attorneys for more than 20 years. In her role as the firm’s new litigation paralegal manager, she oversees a team of paralegals serving the firm’s trial and appellate, oil and gas, and labor and employment attorneys.

“We are really excited about these internal promotions,” said Boren. “Our support staff has so much amazing talent, and this is a great opportunity to continue to develop that talent and strengthen our operational efficiencies.”
