McAfee & Taft names three new practice leaders for 2020
The board of directors of McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, has appointed shareholders Cliff Dougherty, Scott McCreary, and Kirk Turner to serve as new practice leaders for the 2020 term.
Cliff Dougherty, a patent lawyer with 35 years experience practicing exclusively in all aspects of intellectual property law and litigation, has been named as leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. He has previously served as president of the Intellectual Property Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association and is a member of American Bar Association, International Trademark Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, Federal Circuit Bar Association, and Oklahoma Venture Forum.
As the newly appointed practice group leader of the Aviation Group, Scott McCreary oversees one of the largest and most experienced aircraft title, registration and financing legal teams in the United States. He is also a frequent speaker at many of the aviation industry’s business conferences, both domestic and international, and holds leadership positions with the National Business Aviation Association.
Kirk Turner was appointed leader of the state’s largest Labor & Employment Group. The veteran attorney is a frequent speaker on leadership and workplace topics and has served in leadership positions for a significant number of professional industry groups, including the Tulsa Area Human Resources Association (TAHRA), Tulsa Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinators’ Association, Oklahoma State Council for Human Resource Management, State Chamber of Oklahoma, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
