McAfee & Taft’s Tax & Family Wealth Group received top marks among Oklahoma law firms in the Private Wealth Law category in the recently released 2023 edition of Chambers High Net Worth (HNW), and veteran tax and family wealth lawyer Susan Shields was individually ranked as one of the state’s leading private wealth attorneys for the sixth year in a row.

Published by Chambers & Partners, the Chambers HNW guide focuses on identifying and ranking the top law firms, lawyers, and other professional advisers to high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals globally.

An elected Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, Shields has concentrated her practice in the areas of tax and family wealth law for nearly 35 years, focusing on wealth transfer tax planning for high net worth families and individuals, business planning for closely held family businesses, and estate and trust administration.  Her legal achievements have also earned her perennial inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, where she was named “Oklahoma City Trusts and Estate Litigation Lawyer of the Year” for 2023, and in Oklahoma Super Lawyers, where she has been named to its exclusive list of “Top 25 Women Lawyers.”
