McAfee & Taft to host webinar on implementing affordable, enforceable workplace wellness programs

April 27, 2012

McAfee & Taft will host a live webinar on Wednesday, May 2, 2012, from noon to 1pm, to discuss how employers can implement a simple, enforceable workplace wellness program that is affordable and that adeptly navigates the regulatory minefield that can get employers in trouble, particularly as it relates to the offering of incentives and smoking-cessation and weight management programs.

This is the ninth installment of McAfee & Taft’s EmployerLINC webinar series, which began last year and has drawn hundreds of executives, managers and human resources professionals from around the nation.

This one-hour webinar, titled “Employee Wellness on an Shoestring Budget,” addresses some of the top concerns and challenges employers face with ever-spiraling health care costs and discusses how many companies are implementing wellness programs which promote health and fitness as a way to control such costs. While many of these programs have been shown to positively impact the bottom line, they are also subject to a number of federal and state laws that regulate their design and implementation.

Featured presenters will be McAfee & Taft employee benefits attorney Bill Freudenrich and employment attorney Charlie Plumb who will be joined by guest speaker Todd Neaves, president of PremierSource, an employee benefits and risk management consulting firm.

McAfee & Taft is one of the nation’s 250 largest law firms as ranked by the National Law Journal and serves clients locally, nationally and internationally in the areas of aviation, business law, corporate and securities, employee benefits, entertainment law, environmental law, healthcare, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, oil and gas, real estate and tax and family wealth.
