McAfee & Taft to sponsor free labor and employment legal seminar

A host of leading industry experts in the field of labor, employment and employee benefits law are scheduled to speak at a free seminar sponsored by the law firm of McAfee & Taft on Tuesday, November 9th, from 8am to 12:30pm at the Cox Convention Center in downtown Oklahoma City.

Featured speakers include Lt. Governor Mary Fallin, Presiding Judge Richard Blanchard of the Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Court, Diana Jones of the OSHA Consultation Division, Karen Dixon of the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, and Don Schooler of Oklahoma Department of Labor.

Entitled “TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES (Expert Answers for Avoiding HR Jeopardy),” the half-day event is geared toward human resources professionals and business owners and will feature panels and presentations on such topics as “Workers’ Compensation: Problems and Solutions,” “Future Trends in Medical Plans for the 21st Century,” and “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Oklahoma’s Wage Laws … and Then Some.” Lt. Governor Fallin is scheduled to speak on the issue of workers’ compensation reform in Oklahoma.

The half-day program has been approved for 4 credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resources Certification Institute.
