“The McAfee & Taft–Tom Steichen Scholarship is to be awarded to a deserving law student at the University of Tulsa who exemplifies integrity and hard work — qualities that Tom exhibited every day,” said Mary Quinn Cooper.

Over the course of his 42-year legal career, Tom concentrated his practice on product liability and intentional torts defense and was particularly regarded for his knowledge and experience in medical matters and the defense of multi-district medical product litigation. His clients included leading manufacturers and distributors of name brand and generic drugs, surgical supplies and medical devices. His achievements as a trial lawyer earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Oklahoma Super Lawyers.
