McAfee & Taft’s Glenda Holden named 2014 Paralegal of the Year by COALA

McAfee & Taft intellectual property paralegal Glenda Holden was recently named Paralegal of the Year for 2014 by the Central Oklahoma Association of Legal Assistants (COALA).

COALA provides a forum of communication, support, assistance and continuing education for paralegals/legal assistants, as well as establishes standards and guidelines for proper and effective utilization of legal assistants by members of the Oklahoma Bar to provide a higher quality of legal services at a lower cost to the client. Holden currently serves as the organization’s treasurer.

Holden began her career as a paralegal for an Oklahoma City-based boutique intellectual property law firm in 1981. Seventeen years later, she joined McAfee & Taft when the two firms merged. Her experience encompasses all facets of intellectual property law, including preparing and filing U.S. and foreign patent applications, trademark applications and renewals, and copyright applications; handling maintenance fee payments for U.S. patents and annuities for foreign patents and applications; and preparing briefs for intellectual property litigation in both federal court and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She also handles docketing for all of the firm’s intellectual property attorneys.
