November 16, 2017

J. Michael Nordin, a corporate attorney and leader of the Business Transactions and Finance Group at McAfee & Taft, was appointed general counsel for the newly formed Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Advisory Council at its first meeting on November 14, 2017.

The interlocal government council, which is comprised of law enforcement, criminal justice and civic leaders from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Edmond and Midwest City, was formed to advance reforms across the county as a way to improve public safety and efficiency within the criminal justice system.

Prior to his appointment, Nordin served as the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce’s appointed representative on the Oklahoma County Adult Detention Advisory Committee, a nine-member panel created by the Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners and tasked with analyzing and recommending reforms for the Oklahoma County jail.
