In his presentation at McAfee & Taft’s 2017 Corporate Counsel Seminar titled “No ACA Reform, More Money, More Risk, Less Benefits,” employee benefits attorney Brandon Long reviews the status of the Affordable Care Act in light of Congress’ repeated failed attempts to repeal and replace the legislation, provides an update on what aspects of the tax reform bill include an retirement plan or healthcare component, and explains why the expenses associated with the administration of health plans should be treated with the same level of scrutiny and transparency as those of retirement plans. He also explains what employers can learn from four recent lawsuits in which plan sponsors were sued for breaches of fiduciary duties.
