OCBA honors Reid Robison, Curtis Thomas

June 15, 2015

McAfee & Taft attorneys Reid Robison and Curtis Thomas were honored with a total of three awards by the Oklahoma County Bar Association at the organization’s 2015 awards luncheon on Friday, June 12.

Reid Robison, who previously served as OCBA president for the 2006-2007 term and has been an active member of the awards committee since 2006, was honored with the Bobby G. Knapp Leadership Award. In presenting him with the award, OCBA President Jim Webb said, “The criteria for this award describes perfectly our recipient, a sustaining and effective leader in the OCBA, distinguished by stewardship and professionalism reflecting the highest values of our legal community.” Robison was noted for his efforts for reaching out to young lawyers and getting them involved in the bar association.

An active member of both the OCBA’s Law Day Committee and Young Lawyers Division, Curtis Thomas was honored with the President’s Professionalism Award and was praised for his work chairing the Law Day Committee for the past three years. “The luncheon is the best attended event that the OCBA does each year, and the “Ask a Lawyer Program” is intense due to arranging the scheduled of lawyers to answer the bank of phones for eight hours,” said Webb. “Despite his ‘youth,’ Curtis has managed to orchestrate a great line-up of Law Day speakers and the phone bank has been well-staffed.” Thomas was also presented with the Outstanding YLD Director Award, which was voted on by the Young Lawyer Division’s board of directors. This is the second consecutive year he has won the award.
