Oklahoma Workers’ Comp Reform Update
Earlier this year, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin signed into law a bill overhauling the state’s court-based workers’ compensation system. The landmark legislation, which is designed to make the system more efficient and less expensive, offers employers three options for providing workers’ compensation coverage and benefits and for handling claims filed on or after February 1, 2014.
In his presentation titled “Oklahoma Workers’ Comp Reform Update,” labor and employment attorney Tony Puckett reviews the three key components of the new law – the Administrative Workers’ Compensation Act, the Workers’ Compensation Arbitration Act, and the Oklahoma Employee Injury Benefit Act – and helps employers and HR professionals understand the advantages and disadvantages of each option.
