Real-world strategies for ACA compliance

EmployerLINC Webinar

While the end of the year may be winding down, there’s no slowdown in sight for employers trying to keep pace with the Affordable Care Act’s ever-expanding compliance requirements and approaching deadlines. With so much to do and so little time, what’s an employer to do?

In this complimentary one-hour seminar, Brandon Long, leader of McAfee & Taft’s Employee Benefits Group, walks employers through a checklist of ACA 2014 year-end deadlines and prepares benefits professionals for the additional compliance challenges that lay ahead beginning in January 2015.

Topics include:

  • Accurately identifying full-time employees
  • Understanding the obligations of an applicable large employer
  • Obtaining a health plan identifier
  • Reinsurance fee reporting
  • Employer reporting to the IRS and individual employees
  • Preparing for the implementation of the Cadillac tax

Joining Brandon to offer real-world perspectives on the implementation of healthcare reform in the workplace are Angela Hawpe, assistant director for benefits planning and analysis, University of Oklahoma; Dave Husted, senior vice president for human resources, M-D Building Products, Inc.; and Tena Jolley, executive officer for benefits and compensation, Chickasaw Nation. Together, they’ll discuss strategies for offering quality healthcare coverage while also managing rising costs, effectively communicating with employees about healthcare coverage and the new exchange, identifying full-time equivalents (FTEs), and dealing with large populations of part-time and variable-hour workers not considered FTEs under the ACA.
