McAfee & Taft attorney Sharolyn Whiting-Ralston was one of five women honored with the Mona Salyer Lambird Spotlight Award during the Oklahoma Bar Association’s 2023 Women in Law Conference & Luncheon on September 22, 2023, at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.

Since 1996, the Spotlight Awards have been given annually to five women who have distinguished themselves in the legal profession and who have lit the way for other women. In 1998, the award was named to honor the late Mona Salyer Lambird, the first woman president of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and one of the award’s first recipients. Previous winners include McAfee & Taft attorneys Susan Shields, Mary Quinn Cooper, Kathy Neal, Brita Cantrell, and Rachel Blue.

Whiting-Ralston is an accomplished trial lawyer whose practice is focused on resolving complex business and commercial disputes in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration proceedings. She draws upon her unique career experience and insights working in both private practice and private industry to represent clients in a broad range of general litigation, including class actions and disputes involving contracts, corporate governance, corporate investigations, directors’ and officers’ liability, construction, energy and oil & gas, professional liability, and securities. Earlier in her career, Whiting-Ralston devoted a significant portion of her practice to representing employers and management exclusively in all phases of labor and employment law and litigation for more than eight years.

Whiting-Ralston is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association and Oklahoma Bar Association. Active in her community, she serves as chair of the board of directors for the Tulsa Day Center, a nonprofit whose mission is to serve Tulsans who are experiencing or at risk for homelessness.
