Trial lawyer Laura Long joins McAfee & Taft

Laura J. Long has joined the law firm of McAfee & Taft as the newest member of the firm’s growing Litigation Group, which now totals more than 80 in size. Her practice includes energy litigation, complex business and commercial litigation, creditor’s rights including bankruptcy, and employment litigation. She represents clients ranging from individuals to national corporations in state and federal trial courts, bankruptcy courts, appellate courts, and arbitrations and mediations.

A 2008 graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Long has experience with oil and gas industry matters, including contract disputes, marketing and measurement, royalty owner issues, easement and encroachment, surface owner disputes, lease disputes, and toxic torts. Her litigation experience also includes representing clients in a variety of other industries, such as construction, banking, intellectual property and retail.

In addition to her litigation practice, she has represented companies in contract negotiations, corporate structuring, and a variety of corporate transactions.

Long is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, American Bar Association, Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and PEO International.
