What is Your Major Malfunction? Full Metal Jacket Boot Camp for Trial Lawyers and Paralegals

Tulsa County Bar Association CLE Seminar

Touted by the Tulsa County Bar Association as a CLE seminar “not to be missed,” “What is Your Major Malfunction? Full Metal Jacket Boot Camp for Trial Lawyers & Paralegals” provides participating lawyers, paralegals and law students with training in the lost art of trial skills by having six of the Tulsa area’s top “drill instructors” of the craft square off in back-to-back mock jury trials at the TU Mock Trial Courtroom on December 14, 2012.

In one of the sessions presided by Judge Dana Kuehn, the presiding judge of Tulsa County’s Civil Division, veteran McAfee & Taft trial lawyer Bill Leach defends the manufacturer of a boom lift in a products liability-wrongful death case. The scenario: A lay preacher and father of three from rural Oklahoma falls to his death when the boom lift’s bucket he is standing in is inverted after being struck by a large tree limb which he has just cut with a chain saw. Based on an actual case which settled during trial, this scenario involves discussions of bio-mechanics, cause and manner of death, accident reconstruction, and profound sympathy for the widow and children.
