Robin Meyer was a developer before becoming an attorney and is “hands on” to help clients with all facets of technology law and transactions. She especially enjoys thoughtfully supporting clients in the areas of cybersecurity, AI governance, data privacy, digital responsibility, pricing models for technology products and services, technology terms and negotiations, vendor management, and government procurement.
Robin has a business-first mindset and a robust foundation in business transactions, with a proven track record of keenly advocating for her clients. Because she has created and negotiated terms on both the “buy” side and the “sell” side of technology, she can easily articulate both positions, which aids in effective negotiation of thorny technology issues.
Robin’s broad-based career experience, which includes serving as a legal, business and technology advisor and leader in both the private and public sectors, has provided her with a deep understanding of the key motivators, challenges, and concerns of entrepreneurs and businesses operating in fast-paced environments that are often changing due to evolving technology. Additionally, as a Certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP), Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), and Certified Information Privacy Professional /Europe (CIPP/E), she is uniquely qualified to assist clients in assessing and managing risks, identifying efficiencies, and navigating the opportunities posed by existing and emerging technologies.
The Oklahoma native began her career working as the general counsel and assistant general manager of a leading automotive dealership for eight years before entering private practice as a corporate attorney working on complex acquisition, sales, and investment transactions for a boutique law firm. She was then recruited by the State of Oklahoma to serve as lead counsel in a comprehensive consolidation of state technology across 100+ government agencies, where she streamlined legal services across 2,000+ technology projects and led negotiations for state technology transactions with particular focus on citizen data protection. While at the State, she also served as lead procurement counsel where she modernized the procurement contracting process and drafted the overhaul of the state procurement law. Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, she spearheaded legal operations as the general counsel for a high-growth international B2B SaaS provider before serving as a partner in a boutique law firm focused on representing technology innovators and service providers in launching and maturing their businesses, with an emphasis on data privacy, cybersecurity, and commercial terms.
Active in a number of professional organizations specifically focused on technology, she is a charter member of Women in AI Governance, serves on the board of Oklahoma AI Roundtable and the Oklahoma Technology and Innovation Association, and is a member of Women in Cybersecurity and Oklahoma Women in Technology.
