McAfee & Taft shareholder H. Cole Marshall has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL). He is the first Oklahoma attorney in four years to join the fellowship of the premier organization of distinguished U.S. real estate attorneys.

McAfee & Taft attorneys Frank D. Hill (1983), Lloyd T. Hardin, Jr. (1987), Richard A. Riggs (1999), and Robert L. Garbrecht (2017) are among the other seven current ACREL Fellows in Oklahoma.

Admission to ACREL is by invitation only, following a rigorous screening process and significant peer review. Members are elected based on recognition locally and nationally as a distinguished real estate practitioner, high standards of professional and ethical conduct, and contributions within both the legal and non-legal communities to the improvement of the practice of commercial real estate law.

Since joining McAfee & Taft in 2009, Marshall has focused his real estate practice on the representation of clients in buying, selling, leasing, sale-leaseback, development, and financing of a full range of real estate projects including mixed-use, multi-tenant facilities, build-to-suit, industrial, healthcare properties, and midstream projects. He currently serves as the leader of the firm’s Real Estate Group, which has been perennially top-ranked in Oklahoma by the publishers of the prestigious Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

His achievements have earned him individual inclusion in the Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Best Lawyers and Oklahoma Super Lawyers.

Marshall will be formally recognized as an ACREL Fellow at the organization’s annual meeting, which will be held October 1–3, 2026, in Cleveland, Ohio.
